The Greater Cincinnati Area is has many organizations and places that improve the overall horticultural awareness of the region. While they may not be "public gardens" in the official sense of the term, their contributions to plant education and display warrant a mention on our site.
Cincinnati Horticultural Society
The Cincinnati Horticultural Society is a non-profit organization, established in 1989 to produce horticultural exhibitions that are a benchmark for excellence. The Society is the producer of the acclaimed Cincinnati Flower Show, as well as other events throughout the year to educate and inspire guests while showcasing the talents of the area’s landscapers, garden designers and floral designers. Through their Gardener Recognition program, Secret Garden Tour and other awards programs, they encourage and acknowledge exceptional horticultural achievement. The Meade House is the Society’s headquarters; it has specialty gardens available for tours and is open to the public.
